Becoming a Recognized Neighborhood Organization
If you are interested in becoming an Officially Recognized Neighborhood Organization, the City requires that you:
Hold a Formation meeting where the benefits of being organized is discussed and volunteers sought.
Hold an Organizational meeting where the purpose of being organized is discussed again, bylaws are approved, members join, Board of Advisors/Officers are elected, and a petition to be certified is signed by at least 20 property owners/residents/business occupants within the proposed neighborhood’s boundaries.
Provide written notice, by first class mail, of the meetings to all eligible members (property owners/residents/business occupants). The Office of Neighborhood Involvement will help you identify those entitled to notice and provide postage for mailing.
Submit your completed application, the signed petition, bylaws and a list of current officers and your designated representatives to the Organized Neighborhoods of Palm Springs (ONE-PS) to Denise Goolsby, Office of Neighborhoods Manager, who will review your packet and forward your application to the City Manager for approval.
