  Palm Springs Disposal Services

December 2013 - Palm Springs Disposal Services has given $1250.00 in support of special programming focused on green topics, recycling and in celebration of Earth Day. These funds will support an art exhibit and speaker in the library as well as a youth and teen recycled art programs.


California State Library

August 2013 - The California State Library has awarded a $60,000 grant request to the Palm Springs Public Library to develop an online resource that partners with other organizations and digitizes important local history resources to be available to the public. This project is called: Accessing the Past: a Digital History Collaborative.

In December 2012 the Library was awarded a ‘Healthy Mind, Body & Earth’ Play & Learn Island. This project was made possible in part by the Institute for Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. We received the Play & Learn Island in June 2013.

November 2012 – The Friends of the Palm Springs Library generously purchased twelve new state-of-the art laptops for the library at the cost of $23,000.

 March 2012 - Thank you to the Jane A. Melcher Trust for a $25,000 donation to the Library Trust Fund.


Summer 2009 - The Richard W. Mechling Trust has awarded the Palm Springs Public Library with a substantial gift as directed by his estate. Mr. Mechling, who passed away in November 2008, was a long-time resident of the Coachella Valley and regular patron of the Palm Springs Public Library.

August 2009 - Target awards Library grant in the amount of $2380.00 to supplement the purchase of Youth materials, supplies and support special youth programs.

Trader Joe’s of Cathedral City provided three bags of groceries as adult reading grand prizes and sponsored the finale program by providing refreshments.

Flight School of Palm Springs provided gift certificates for a 1 hour flight lesson with a certified instructor

Barnes & Noble of Palm Desert provided gift cards totaling $150 for the adult reading program
